From August 28th, 2009 - These lovely golden bananas come all the way from Ecuador to end up in the bin. Unbruised with over a week before being banana-bread-ready, it's a wonder why so many were thrown out. I loaded my panniers with over 40 liters which barely skimmed the top of the bin.
This week we visited the bins a few times, always finding more bananas. Curiously, they seem to be getting greener rather than more ripe (see entry below).
We're freezing, dehydrating, baking, eating, and of course, sharing.
